Post Im having PC Problems.
I had problems with my old machine and I had money some extra money so I decided to strip the parts from the XPS and shove them in a new case etc.

Seeing as the xps case and mobo were btx I decided to get an atx motherboard to make it easier finding a case and while I was at it I threw in some water cooling unit for the CPU because it looked kewl.

Everything went well and all was installed to the point where I was formatting my drive and realised I had lost my CD key for windows. Deciding that I'd wait till the following day to find it and install it then I turned everything off and went to bed.

The following day the PC was turned on and I got no post beep to say "HEY GUYZ IM OK!" and there was no display. I looked up the no post beeps on the internet and it says its normally a CPU or PSU error. I stripped the machine and tried the CPU on another machine and it worked perfectly. I replaced the PSU and everything powered on the same. Now im left thinking that the motherboard is faulty. Is there anything else I can try?

I tried stripping it all out of the case and putting things in one by one and it gave me the correct post beeps for no ram or video etc. But gives me nothing when everything is in. All mobo lights are on.

The mobo is:

XFX nForce 780i SLI Socket 775 8 channel audio ATX Motherboard

I can't be bothered sending this back and waiting on a replacement that might be as bad. Im hoping its an error on my part thats easily fixed.

This is exactly what happened to me whenn I changed my case. I know it sounds like condecention, but CHECK YOUR CONNECTIONS. Mine had the exact same symptoms and it was because the 4 pin plus next to the CPU was strained.

I've checked all the connections thrice over. I've even taken the machine out of the case and plugged everything in on cardboard to make sure it wasn't shorting.

I've done some research and other people are saying it might be something to do with the voltage of my RAM. I cant change my any of the settings as I can't get into the bios, so ill need to try some other ram tonight.

For most motherboards, you hit either "Del" or "F2" during POST to enter the bios. Although RAM voltage shouldn't really be a problem as the motherboard should autodetect it, unless it has been manually set in the bios which is highly unlikely. The RAM itself might be incompatable with your motherboard, so trying other RAM may solve it.

remove the bios battery ( when the pc is off ) remove the power lead, push the power button several time to de-charge the board. replace the battery. replace the power cord. turn on.
